CMBHL was established in 1999, and is run out of Dickson Areana in Cambridge, Ontario. The league consists of 16 different teams, with a 15 games regular season. Top 4 teams from each division are then advanced to the post season.

CONSTITUTION
1. A governing committee will consist of the president, and one (1) team representative from each duly recognized league team. In that it is impossible to foresee every eventuality in the best interests of the league.
2. Players must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, prior to the start of the current playing season.
3. The final registration day will be June 10 deadline; this allows us time to forward the sheets to the OBHA by the June the 15 deadline. There will be no additions or deletions after this day, the players listed on your last game report will be considered your final roster.
4. If requested in writing by a team representative or league official any player listed on the team's roster, who has not fulfilled all their obligation to a team, will be permanently suspended until the obligation are resolved. Notification will be required from the team representative prior to the player being permitted to play in any game.
5. A game default will be assessed to any team having a player participate in any game when the player is not on the final roster, has not served his suspension, or has not paid any outstanding fines or both. SPECIAL NOSTE; any default during the playoff rounds and the series will be forfeited.
6. If the team is not reay to commence playing within five (5) minutes, the game will be forfeited.The game clock will be started at the games scheduled start time, and will not be reset to regulation time to start the game.
7. when s team defaults,andd there is no game played, each player on the non defaulting team ho are present, and REORT TO THE TIMEKEEPER will be credited for game played.
8. If a default occurs and no game is played, the winning team may claim a 1-0 score and the goal will be awarded to a player (NO ASSISTS). Goalkeepers that strictly tend goal are not eligible.
9. If after a game is played, a team wins by default and both teams have goals, the non-defaulting team will retain all individual scoring points. The defaulting team will lose all individual points, but all players will be credited for a game played for awards or post season eligibility. All penalty minutes, fines, suspensions will be retained as part of league statistics, and must be served and paid.
10. Any player who has not participated in one third (1/3) of his teams regular season scheduled games. (rounded down) while on the same team will not be eli!lible for oost season olav. This will exclude goalkeepers, unless they want to play out as a runner, then they will be required to fulfill the one third (1/3) requirement.
11. A injured player who reports to the time box IN PERSON at the start of his teams scheduled game uniform or not, will be marked as present on the game report, and that game will be counted for playoff eligibility. If after the start of the second period, a player must be dressed and on the players bench to be credited with a game played.
12. Playoffs will be determined by the President:
a: First round of playoffs will be a two game series. The first team to acquire three (3) points will be declared the winner of the series and move onto the next series. (A win and a tie would be equal to three points (3). If series is still tied see 12 b.
b:ln playoffs, if there is a tie at the end of regulation time, there will be a five (5) minute overtime period. If at the end of the overtime period the game is still tied, each team will select five (5) players who will attempt to score alternately. If the score is still tied after the first five (5) players, then the shootout will be sudden death with each team alternately sending a new shooter. Players are not allowed to repeat until all players on the team's roster have participated in the shootout.
13. To break ties in the regular season standing in determining league and divisional pennants, and final placing, this breakdown in priority will be used:
I. More wins against tied team.
II. Greater goal span against tied teams.
III. More total wins.
IV. Greater overall goal spans.
V. If still tied, one playoff game will follow. (Sudden-victory, overtime if necessary)
14. To decide the higher scoring position in the event of a tie, the fbllowing breakdown in priority will be used:
I. Most goals.
II. Fewer games.
III. Most assists.
IV. Least penalty minutes.
15. A player must participate in a minimum of one half(1/2) of the regular schedule to be eligible for individual voting awards
16. Goalkeeper standing will be based on least goals against per game average. Goalkeepers must play at least one half (1/2) of the schedule to be listed.
17. To break ties in goalkeepers average's, the following breakdown in priority will be used:
I. Most Games Played.
II. Most shutouts.
III. Most wins.
18. Okaying Rules
a) Rules of the game shall be in accordance with the Canadian Ball HOckey Association (C.B.H.A) rule book, and these will be subject to the interpretation of the referee-in-chief and his major officials. If there is a conflict the C.M.B.H.L. constitution will take precedence.
b) When there is a five (5) goal or more spread at the ten minute mark of the second (2nd) period, the game will run straight time. If the goal spread becomes less than five (5) goals, the game clock will revert to stop time, At all times the clock will stop when a goal is scored. a penalty is being assessed, a time out is called or a player is injured. When the goal spread reached ten (10) goal differential at the ten minute mark of the second (2nd) period, the game clock will stop only on instruction of the MAJOR officials.
c) A player is restricted to playing for only one (1) team on any given night.
d) It is the responsibility of the team representative, to retain the OBHA registration form and/or player addition/deletion form, and have them available at every game. The must be fully completed; and be available by specific dates to be forwarded to the OBHA head office. All players must have completed either registration form and signed where indicated prior to participating in any scheduled game. Only after this has been completed can the player be added to the team roster and included on the game report.
e) Prior to the start of the game a team representative must go to the time keeper, and check off on the report those players that are present and will be participating in that game, It is important that any new player who have signed up to play, are added to the pre-printed game report and that the players name and numbers correspond, the representative will then initial the report prior to the game starting.
f) The primary onus, of honouring fines and suspensions rest with the team involved. Use of a player under suspension, or with outstanding fines, shall result in a forfeited game.(See 5)
g) Any player serving a major, or multiple minor penalties, for another member of his team, who was ejected from the game, may be replaced in the penalty box, by any player who is on the floor, at each stoppage of play.
h) A team wishing to protest a game must do so within forty-eight (48) hours after the game. Protests must be submitted in writing to the President and accompanied by a $25.00 fee, which will be returned if the protest is found to be valid. Protests are not acceptable on the major officials judgement calls.
i) Each team is permitted one (1) thirty (30) second time out per period, and one for each overtime period.
j) The Governing Committee shall rule on all protests.
19. Discipline:
a) FIGHTING, GROSS MISCONDUCT, AND MATCH PENALTIES:
i. MATCH PENALTY:
First offense of the season, his next five (5) games plus a $50.00 fine.
Second offense of the season, one (1) year from the date of second (2nd) offense plus a $75.00 fine.
ii. FIGHTING:
First offense of the season, his teams next five (5) games plus $50.00 fine. If assessed the aggressor and or instigator then his teams next seven (7) games plus $75.00 fine.
Second offense of the season, his teams next five (5) games plus a $75.00 fine. If assessed the aggressor and or instigator then his teams next seven (7) games plus $100.00 fine.
iii. GROSS MISCONDUCTS:
First individual offense of the season, his teams next three (3) games plus a $25.00 fine.
The second individual offense of the season, his teams next four (4) games plus a $35.00 fine.
b) Any player receiving a second suspension in the same season, which is not covered by another rule, will be assessed an additional two (2) game suspension, plus a $20.00 fine added to the current assessment.
NOTE: If the match penalty involves an official, the player will be suspended indefinitely, plus a $50.00 fine in addition to any other fines imposed. The incident will be reviewed, and the player will be advised of his suspension. The player will have 72 hours to request a hearing appeal any suspension over five (5) games. The suspension will be in effect during the appeal process. Other affiliated leagues will be asked to honour these.
c) If a player is assessed a major penalty for a cross checking, high sticking, or slashing infraction, the player will be ejected from the game. The player will also be suspended for his teams next three (3) games plus a $30.00 fine. A second offense is four (4) games plus a $40.00 fine.
d) Any player who is assessed a major penalty (other than covered by another rule) will be ejected from the game, and assessed a two (2) game suspension plus a $20.00 fine. A second offense during the season, his teams next three (3) games plus a $30.00 fine.
e) Any teams with players fighting off the playing surface preceding, during or after their game will each be fined $100.00 which must be paid prior to their next game.
f) Any Player assessed a misconduct penalty after the ten (10) minute mark of the second (2nd) period will be assessed a one (1) game suspension plus a $10.00 fine.\
g) A game misconduct will result in a player being ejected from the game in which the penalty was called, in addition to the two (2) game suspension the player will be assessed a $20.00 fine.
h) If any player commits a third (3rd) offense which carries a fine, a suspension or both, the player will be suspended indefinitely, pending review by the Executive Committee.
i) In the event a player is suspended for more games that are remaining in the current season, the fines and suspensions will carry into future seasons.
j) The president can take additional action on any matter of discipline as deemed necessary.
